Sparkling Spanish Wine
The Sparkling Spanish Wine (CAVA)
Cava is a sparkling wine produced by the traditional method.
For a wine to be called Cava, it has to be controlled by the regulatory council. The Cava Regulatory Board determines as Producing Regions a total of 159 municipalities in the provinces of Barcelona, ??Tarragona, La Rioja, Lleida, Girona, Alava, Zaragoza, Navarra, Badajoz, and Valencia, which together make up the production area of Cava and therefore are the only ones with full legal capacity to produce this type of sparkling wine and market it under this name.
